Dr. Costa joined YPMG in 2024. He completed his undergraduate in Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri then obtained his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Costa completed his Anatomic and Clinical pathology residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC followed by Anatomic Pathology fellowship to include specialized work in Breast, Genitourinary Pathology, GI pathology and Cytology.

Dr. Costa has been practicing pathology for 36 years, he started his career in Academic Pathology for 13 years with a passion for resident teaching that  won him four teaching awards.  In 2001 he left academia for an exciting biotechnology venture at Lifespan Biosciences developing paraffin active antibodies in Human multi-tissue arrays, specifically focusing on localizing GCPR receptors working with the pharmaceutical industry using rabbit polyclonal antibodies to oligopeptides based on the human genome project information.  Afterwards Dr. Costa worked in private practice both at reference labs and hospital practices. In his free time he enjoys recreational bicycle riding and gardening.
